First Aid Course for Children

A GROUP of 31 children aged between four and 12 had a whale of a time during a first aid training programme.

The ‘Emas Kids First Aid Training Programme’ held recently at the G Hotel in Penang saw the children of hotel staff learning vital skills such as calling for an ambulance in an emergency as well as bandaging wounds.


The event was organised by St John Ambulance Malaysia (SJAM), Penang.

Its administrative officer Khor Sin Wah said the objective of this programme was to instil awareness and basic knowledge of first aid in young children.

Six SJAM volunteers also taught the children simple cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skill and how to treat wounds, burns and scalds before taking them to take a look inside an ambulance.

Mcare, are a group of pharmacists with the co-operation of the Penang State Government, are organizing the PENANG HEALTH AWARENESS DAY

Date: Nov 8, 2009
Time: 9.00am to 6.00pm
Venue: Kompleks Masyarakat Penyayang, Jalan Utama, Penang.

This Health Awareness Day is an opportunity for Penangites to bring their family and friends along to obtain information about matters concerning health like diabetic care, proper weight management and counseling on medicines.

31 kids joined in EMAS Kids

Thirty one kids joined the EMAS Kids - First Aid for Kids Programme at G Hotel this morning. The kids, aged between 4-12 years old, are the children of G Hotel staffs enjoyed and have fun with EMAS Volunteers and learn first aid skills together.

The Executive Assistant Manager of G Hotel, Mr. Josef Schien was impressed with EMAS volunteers for able to conduct this kind of training to kids who are active and difficult to control usually.

Session end with ambulance visit by kids and parents, and certificates presentation by SJAM Penang State Commander, Dato' Dr. Yee Thiam Sun and G Hotel Executive Assistant Manager, Mr. Josef Schien.
